How do I choose my housing and trim size?

The choice of housing and trim size is based on the application, see the table below for our recommendations. You can call us or email us for any further assistance.

Application Recomendations
  • restricted area, book cases, cabinets, display case
3 inch housings (mini housings) for space saving reasons
  • replacing existing outdated PAR 20 recessed lighting (renovation)
4 inch housings (industry standard for PAR 20 housings is 4 inches, by choosing 4 inch housings, you avoid making new holes or major ceiling rework.
  • restricted budget
The 3 1/2 inch all in one fixture is ideal for low cost projects
  • all other applications
The 3 5/8 inch housings and trims are the new industry standard for modern halogen fixtures.  These offer the widest variety of trims and are highly recommended for new projects
